Default Right hand drive

I saw the car on top gear a few months ago. I really want one, can afford one but cannot buy it as it has the steering wheel on the left and I cannot get it registered in Australia.

Any idea if they will make a right hand drive model? Our country at the moment is doing really well, I do not understand why they would not make a version for left side of the road.

There are no plans for RHD Karmas, but the Nina, err, Atlantic, will have RHD builds.

Developing right-hand drive for a car with left-hand drive is very expensive. If they see a market for max. a few hundred to a thousand cars in the UK, Australia and Japan, they will not earn back their investment. Fisker is not a big company yet that can afford such a loss. The Atlantic will be right-hand drive as it is expected to sell in higher numbers.

The Nina however does not have the solar panel led roof. Although tesla indicated the solar cells would be next to useless to power the battery.

Does that limitation apply to new cars only? I had a LHD HMMWV for sale a couple of months ago and one of the potential buyers was a gentleman from Australia who was going to personally import the car. The sale didn't happen for other reasons, but he never said anything about the car's steering being on the wrong side was going to be a problem. The HMMWV was titled as a 1986 vehicle and it was sold (obviously) as a used vehicle, so that may have been the difference.

Of course, you may just NOT want to drive a LHD car in Australia, which is perfectly understandable. You see older RHD Rolls Royce and Bentleys here in the US from time to time, and many of the US postal service delivery vehicles are RHD and they are sold to private individuals after the postal service is done with them, so it must be possible to register them here in the US, but I have no idea how Australia deals with that.
