Default Window washer fault

I've been having a window washer fault every time I start my car for the last month or so. The reservoir is completely full. I drained it and refilled it just to be sure. Lormax suggested replacing the washer reservoir since the sensor can't be purchased separately however they are not available. Harleyguy suggested jumpering the connector to get rid of the fault but that did not work. Does anyone have any suggestions? This little problem is becoming a big frustration.

My guess is that its probably an off the shelf sensor. Please post a pic of the sensor. Or better yet measure the resistance. Worst case scenario you can add a matching "full" resistor to the connector to stop the warning from displaying. A 10k ohm resistor will likely solve your problem.

I mentioned in my PM to you I was going to get you the wiring diagram .i have it but need your email address to send it to you . It's a basic circuit the circuit goes from ground though the sensor them out of the sensor to the VCM . If you jumped out the circuit and the light is on disconnect the jumper and see if the light is still on . If the light is still on you need to check the wire that goes to ground from the connector if the ground circuit is good the next coarse of action is to check the wire that goes from the sensor to the VCM which isn't going to be easy . Assume that wire is good the fault can lie within the VCM .

Rumors of HarleyGuy's departure have been greatly exaggerated.
