Default Can VCM get fried if battery dies?

Hi Everyone,
I have a big problem with my Karma and it's been at Grand Touring Auto since May. Over winter my 12V car battery died and when I took the car to Grand Touring Auto to get replaced they said that my VCM doesn't work and won't recognize my keys. Is this common?

It's now October and they've tried everything to reprogram the keys. They have tried restarting it with the keys very far away and then approaching the car, they have tried reprogramming it... nothing. They contacted Fisker but they said that they are no longer servicing the old Karmas.

does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Pat

Same thing happened to my Karma. The Miami dealer, Prestige, ordered a new vcm and keys and installed and programmed it about 5 months ago. With anew 12v it cost about $2200.

I doubt that you have another bad battery.
