Default Reduced performance contact service center (2) and CIU issue

Hello all,

Recently I drove a long drive in Stealth mode. The battery was depleted and the ICE switched on. I always drive in Hill mode 2. Before a roundabout I decelerated with regenerative braking, took the roundabout and accalerated gently. Directly afterwards the above warning came on in red letters. I noticed the ICE was not running anymore. The car was driving on the remaining battery energy. After 1 km I was in a village and went to a grocery store. When I turned the car back on everything was normal again and the ICU turned on again in Stealth mode.

The same day my screen of the CIU went blank with a pop of the subwoofer in the back. The odometer went from km to miles. This has happened one time before a couple of months ago. After turning of and turning on the car everything was normal again.

My car is VIN 1609. If I recall it right my car is at 525 software. Thanks to the forum I know both problems have occured before with other members. Concerning the first problem the cause can be the coupler right? Any other possible causes? Concerning the second the CIU may be / become defective. Any other possible causes?
Can both be interrelated or is it pure coincidence both issues occured on the same day? May the 535 update resolve the issues? I have read something about the coupler in the 530 update...

Thank you very much in advance for your answers.

Bart

Hi Bart,

I had exactly the same problem. My car has just been serviced at Kroymans about a month ago and software downgraded to 520 before this happend to me. When i called Kroymans they told me it could be the sparkplugs or a fault in one or more of the ignition coils.
I have replaced my sparkplugs and, maybe i am lucky, have not had any more issues with reduced performance. Hope this helps.

36k miles and my coupler is finally toast, knew it was coming because of a few "reduced performance" warnings and a sound from the engine that sounds metal hitting metal; ting ting ting, which progressively gets worse. $4k fix, cha-ching

30k miles, and I had to change my coupler also. The error usually happens when one switch from stealth to sport mode followed by the scary reduction of EV miles to 0.

The coupler has nothing to do with the reduction in mileage.More than likely you have bad modules.

If the coupler was bad the opposite would happen and you would only have EV miles not ICE miles (they would countdown) and the ICE would not be able to be actuated.

Is there an easy way for my CSP to check the health of my coupler?
