The graphics are also hideous. Prefer the original CIU with the day night backgrounds to the Karma rendition. Was hoping that the bugs could be worked out then launched but the main issue at this point is that CIU's are running out and once they do run out there is no backup supply of the existing variant- rendering the MY12 cars useless.

I recently bought my Fisker from my son (original owner) who had the ďDriver Information SystemĒ replaced a year ago during the Karma Power Train Warranty Inspection. He was under the impression or was told that the new system was the same as the one in the new Revero. The work order invoice shows 1.5 hours of labor and $1,628 for the system. Donít see how a new CIU could have been included in the labor or cost.
So either this is not the Revero Information System or the new system must be using the old CIU.
How can I tell the difference between the original system and the Revero System?

There is no way to confuse the two. The graphics generated by the Rverero’s CIU is completely different from the Karma’s. Here is linke to a photo of the new system:

Also, the DIS in the Revero is set up as a single flat screen without any bezels. Here is a link to a photo:

If your displays don’t look these photos, you have the original system.

None of the new Revero electronics can be fitted to the Fisker. The harnesses and network layout of the 2 cars are completely different.

So, you have to wonder why they didn't think that lots of us might spend $20K on upgrades to our cars before we'd consider buying the same car for $80K more.

Drove the Revero in the fall and did like the new car feel and responsivness . Not about to trade up but pleased to see it's presence as it helps me from an otherwise isolated existence. Interesting side comment now: on our BNN (Business News Network) channel up here in Canada there have been some well presented video ads for the Karma Revero that are running in prime time.

those karma ads have been running on cnbc for months in the usa.
it helps recognition.
nearly every day i have somebody stop me and ask about the car, and depending on which demographic they are in, i either point them to buy on ebay, or the KA site.
the more reveros get sold, the better off we will be frankly.
i know it sounds counterintuitive, but we need them to be viable and on the road to continue to have a parts pipeline and the little support we do get.

I donít think thatís particularly counterintuitive. Having a viable company has a lot of benefits, even for owners of orphaned product.
