Question Rubber, 22" for the winter

I have the F1s and I can feel the lack of traction in the cold. It can get under 40 here a lot and this is my DD. I was going to get 21" rims but I am worried they may not fit over the large calipers...thus the need for 22" all season tires. If you live in the South you have heard of Kaufman tires. My GF works for them and I can get a killer discount, so this is the place I want to buy from. However, they don't seem to have any good Front tire options.

What do you think of these Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06? Using the tirerack link as they provide good detail.
Also, they have these Yoko Parada X?

Walmart has these Nitto Invo for $155 for the front, thoughts?

It would be nice to list 22" All Season experience option for tires if you have any? I need options, we need options. Can you guys help?

I have hankook ventus 265 35 22 all season on the front rims and 285 35 22 on back now since 2 weeks. They seem to be good. But we didn't have snow already here. Just cold and wet

Aren't you guys afraid if the limited space above the 22' to the fender?
Iced snow can be pretty brutal to this area!

Ove, did you get a good deal on your tires? My 22' have been in the garage all year, as my F1 are down and I couldn't get a reasonable option.
Currently I 'm finalizing the 21' Yokos

The manual says tire size should be:
Front: 255/35
Rear: 285/55

Those fit on the factory rims? I don't know what would fit on these rims.

When I size tires for a custom fender opening, you really have to go by the overall diameter of the tire, especially if you are using a stock wheel. I use this site: https://tiresize.com/chart/ Click 22" at the top and it will give the overall diameter of the tire. You can use this to compare different sizes to get one that will fit the wheel opening.

255 35 22 front
285 35 22 back
Is original tyre size.
As they don't build 255.35 22 as all weather tyre I decided to choose 265 35 22.

Cheap tyres here in germany

Correct, I did a typo.

I just order a set on Continental Extreme(something) DW06 on 265 and 285/35 from Kaufman tire. I plan on keeping my F1s for summer. I have about 7500 miles on them.

Stefan, Hotrodove, have you guys been able to find reasonable deals on tires in Germany somewhere?

Just realized it's a bit more challenging than I'd thought...

Thank you, jomak, will do!

FYI Tirerack does not ship to these parts but there are similar offerings such as Delticom's http://www.reifendirekt.com, which has excellent deals and where I usually source the tires for my other vehicles.

While these guys do carry the summer version of the Eagle F1, they do not carry the winter version. And the regular garages here in Switzerland charge and arm and a leg.
