Mine is in for service right now. Probably about done. I also have the 2 year extended warranty, which expires in July. I have been thinking about what to do next. After over 6 years of ownership, I've been toying with the idea of selling it. If I do, I will probably do so in April as that will give the new owner peace of mind and a few months of warranty to guarantee the car is trouble free. At least he/she'll know he's not buying a car with existing expensive problems like so many now do.

Hello Sigurd. I purchased the same extended warranty, but despite the high cost of it and the battery updates I had to do to get the warranty, I have never really used it. Out of curiosity what have you been able to use the warranty for, in hindsight was it worth purchasing?

I also wonder if Karma Automotive will offer a continued warranty thereafter.

I'll let you know as soon as I pick my car up once they are finished with the service. So far, it has worked well and been worth the money. I did have a weak module and they repaired my battery last year under warranty.

Pat's Garage in San Francisco just got my battery back to 100% (under the Extended Warranty). Shout outs to him (them!) and Karma's program for getting my car back to like new.

Per the Karma executives, this is the last warranty. You should of had your RDM rebuilt as part of the initial set up of the warranty. Had mine done and Pat figured out mine was about to go. Glad I bought the warranty.

I did (for the 3rd time). I had my motors and RDM replaced when the motors spun at 7500 miles. So, I do have the big interrupted circles on the motors. Then when I got the warranty, they had to do some updates to the RDM in order for me to qualify. Then 8 months later, they found a small leak in the RDM, so now they have worked on it for the 3rd time.
The warranty has been great for me. I certainly have saved a lot of money.

In case there was any confusion on this issue, Karma Automotive representatives at the most recent event in Los Gatos confirmed that they will not be offering any further extended warranties on the Karma once the current program expires. Cars certified under the Certified Pre-Owned program through dealers like @FiskerPhilly will be covered until the end of their respective warranty periods, but there will be no future programs beyond that.

There would be nothing to stop a group of owners from making their own ...

Something like 10 owners contribute $4K along with a "health certificate" from a CSP and the first $40K of repairs (maybe over $500 and only after 3 months go by) get reimbursed from the fund.

Yes that sort of thing ... But, the reverse -- the money going to the first cars who "die".
