My 2018 GMC Denelli doesn’t have wireless CarPlay I hate it for the reason. I questioned why in 2015 I would receive my texts though the entertainmet screen and in 2018 and later models you need to hook up your phone to the USB port . They told me that all manufacturers were going that route .
Going backwards from wireless back to wired makes no sense they said it was a safety. Thing to keep people off there phones . I haven’t tried Apple car play in any of our 2018 cars at work to see if any other manufacturers have gone that route . Maight try it next week we have a good selection of different cars on the lot .

It appears that the solution for now is to use my current CIU and disconnect the center speaker (BTW - front center speaker). Andrew indicated that I'll lose bluetooth capabilities but I rarely use it anyway. Everything else related to the CIU appears to work fine, but I've been told that the CIU will eventually go bad so hopefully FIskerPhilly or PowerSource can come up with something soon to allow us to change out these POS CIU's. What really chaps me is if it was water intrusion that caused my problems, Frank Kent performed the "fix" for that a couple of years ago.


FiskerPhilly or PowerSource - please let us know if/when you have some news regarding an alternative to Karma's CIU.

Any update on this? With iOS 12 being out, now third party apps can be be used via Apple Carplay and a new CIU unit with carplay would be brilliant.

Of course, for us European owners, the unit would need to be shipped with clear instructions so that our dealers can install for us.

Apple carplay could defintely be better....agree there!

But hey, we are mostly either ios or Android phone users and with a dated CIU on our Fiskers. Having the ability to use Waze or Google Maps via the CIU would be a godsend.
