Does anybody know anyone in the area?
Also I wish to paint the calipers yellow, any ideas on that.
I'm near FLL too, and I tried the number Double posted and didn't get anyone (no VM set up either). A search of "DRT Wheel" didn't turn anything up either. Let me know if you got through. Tell them I'm in for at least 2 wheels too, and maybe we can get volume pricing

As for calipers, I don't know about yellow but if you wanted red there is like 25 on ebay!: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trks...at=0&_from=R40

Update: A search of "DRT Wheel" turned up "DRT Express Wheels" at 305-827-5005. I called them and they seem to be in the rim repair business, but like Double said: they pick up the rims, and I'm not sure if they work on a rim still mounted on a car. I emailed them at [email protected]. I'm a little confused by their business model: who can take off the rims and just leave their $100K car sitting in a tire shop waiting for them to come back?

For those of you in the South Florida area who are looking to have wheel rims done I just found the business card of the guy who did mine:

Jason Rostveit 561-644-5831

Not sure he will travel to Ft. Lauderdale area but he said he would hook you up with somebody who will do the work.
Let me know if this works out for you.

Just a FYI when it comes to rim repair their is a couple of ways it's down first is to remove the tire repair the rim and hope that the rim doesn't get damaged while they mount the tire again .
Second is too remove the tire/rim off the car and the deflate the tire break the top bead this way they have room to repair the edge . When fixed just inflate and put back on car .

Another one which is very popular is sanding the rim on the car fixing and flatten out the damage and when it comes to painting they use playing cards around the rim to avoid overspray .

The list goes on

Has anyone used "wheel rim protectors"? I found a couple on the internet. RimPro-Tec (Wheel Bands) and Rimskins. The RimPro-tec seems to be a higher quality product. However, in checking the stock 22" rims there is not a flat surface that goes around the rim. There is a little dip where the spoke meets the outer rim. Don't know whether these tape protectors will work....has anyone tried them? Thanks for any input.

Nice idea, Allan.
... but do you really think, a tape can protect a 2.4t car from scratches?

I'd think, the tape will be cut between the rims and whatever you will hit.

You are probably right Stefan. I guess the next best solution is to get rid of all the concrete parking bumpers in my area. ( I wish I could!)

And while you are at it, please grind down all the curbs in San Francisco by about 2 inches.

I am updating a very old post, because I just had all 4 rims redone at my home, and they look absolutly brand new. Took about 2 hours and cost me $200.00
I live in Palm Beach Fla, and for anybody living in South Fla, here is the contact.

Curbside Wheel Repair
Jason Rostveit 561-644-5831.

He was very reliable and courteous.
