Default Aftermarket car audio...

I would like to upgrade my car audio system by integrating all components into the command center. I am hesistant because any mishap could cause more issues than I bargained for. However, at the same time I trust the company I plan to use.

Does anyone know the size of the speakers currently in the vehicle? I would assume 6.5 for doors but any idea on the center channel and subwoofer size? I would like to have this information before I commit to having my dash and panels exploded.

They haven't had the pleasure of refreshing a Karma. Ferraris, Bentleys, Lambos all day, Karma not so much.

Thanks.

What would you upgrade to? Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the sound system in the Karma one of the better systems in any cars off the assembly line?? It's much better than my mercedes, bmw, infiniti,... etc... Do you really need to mess with a good thing??

Thanks for the response. I would upgrade to Focal Or Rainbow. The Karma system is decent but lacks in clarity and midbass response to me.

I have had each one of the cars you mentioned. The Bose in the Mercedes and Infiniti and the Harmon Kardon logic 7 in the Beamer. Of course all of our listening preferences are different so I understand where you are coming from. However, I feel all the above premium systems are better than the premium system currently in the Fisker.

I also have/have had other cars that have Morel, Hertz, and Dynaudio systems. Very possible that my ears have become accustomed to a certain sound. Thanks again for the feedback. I expected this to go unanswered completely but thought I would give it a try. Can't find any information on what sizes are currently in the vehicle online.

I tried to gather info re: upgrading the Karma system 14 months ago and like you predicted, I got no where and gave up. I had switched from a basic S-class MB system car to the Karma, and felt the MB system was higher end. However, the Karma has better bass. Good luck. It's like opening a can of worms...

It is definitely upgradable. I don't remember the exact sizes. But the subwoofer is definitely 8 inch.

The rear speakers + sub + analog amplifier are all underneath the rear package shelf (the deck area behind the real seat head rest)

It might be a bit difficult to remove the center speaker, I think you might have to remove the front windshield glass.

The cross overs are all passive. So coming out of the head unit (CIU) you simply have "Front Left, Front Right, Rear Left, Rear Right, Sub out"

Just remember, if you upgrade to anything stronger than the existing stock system, you will have some vibrations in the interior cabins. Especially the rear package shelf you would have to strengthen it with an additional structural support.

Your microphone system for the handsfree bluetooth as well as the voice control might be affected as well because they are currently tuned to the existing speakers for the echo cancelation. Once the speakers are changed, that parameter no longer holds true, you might have unintended consequences.

Thanks for the information itís more than what I had. This will make subwoofer and amp choice a little easier. We have discussed everything you mentioned with the exception of your last point. Will bring this up when I head back to the shop. May have to remove the panels to see other speaker sizes and go from there. My goal is to keep the factory look intact. Thanks again.
