How many ways are they to get the music to the stereo?

As I have read:

1. Through Blutooth
2. By aux
3. By usb/iphone connector

Is there one usb and one iphone connector or you use the same?

I was thinking maybe you could have an Apple touch in the armrestcompartment connected to the usb (when you are home/work) it gets wifi connection and syncronische the music using Icloud when it works.

Could you just plug in a large usb stick and play the music from the commandcenter? what format can it understand? I have apple losseless, mp3 and flac format today

Yes, you can play MP3s (and possibly other formats) from a USB stick. My dealer and I did exactly this during our test drive. The command center even displayed album art. There are some command center bugs being resolved, so this may not work perfectly at the moment, but should be rectified soon

You also forgot a few other sources: AM, FM and Satellite radio

For me, I expect it will be a lot of Pandora internet radio from my smartphone over BlueTooth

I have been a bit concerned about going the memory stick route since I figured it would create the same types of problems as the Iphone/Ipod connection. Has anyone been using that and has it been working well?

Isnt this a little bit or a cut corner? there is no CD player nor is there a built in hard drive. You would expect with this much tech that they would put in a HD to store your music on...

When I noticed it didn't have a CD/DVD I thought the same thing - then I tried to remember the last time I used the CD player in my current vehicle. I have an in-dash CD/MP3 player AND a glovebox-mounted 6 disk changer. I can probably count the times I've used them in the last 3 years on my fingers.

Considering you can get a 8gb thumbdrive that's no larger than a postage stamp for virtually nothing I've never understood the point of car mounted harddrives. Thumbdrives give you ultimate flexibility, they're easy to load and they're portable. I do wish the car had WiFi, which would give you access to internet radio (not to mention traffic and weather on the nav) but I'm not at all concerned about not having a cd player.

I doubt the decision was based on cutting corners. Fisker is a forward looking company and CDs are a decidedly dying technology. (I feel old typing that. I remember when CDs came out and were cutting edge)

Our other car has a 40GB hard drive with something called "Gracenote." I have no clue how to load music on it. I have a very old 65GB hard-drive based ipod that works just fine, both with the Apple-specific interface, or as a generic hard drive (that feature went away in later ipods) so we have never bothered to figure out how to load music on the car's hard drive.

I prefer it to not have a hard drive, because it would probably be mechanical and not an SSD and when it fails it costs, and you have to take the time to transfer music to it, and once you do, it stays in the car. Having a USB port is much better. Anyone know if the USB port in the back seats is linked to the Command Center for music or just to provide power to a USB device?

I agree. CD players and even built in hard drive are yesterday's technology. Never used either in my last two cars. But a better navigation system sure would be appreciated

I feel the same way ... I bought a boom box in the 1980s to put in my office at the U. Still have it, actually, so if anyone has any old cassette tapes or CDs, I can play them!

It's supposed to be. On my second test drive my dealer tried to use it to play something off his iPod, but the software had glitched already. This was back in December I think, so it was probably pre-6.11 even...

My 2004 Lamborghini Gallardo has both a CD and a cassette player. No 8 track though.
