It in danish, Henriks homecountry:-) Funny they take the tunnel in the video over to Sweden my homecountry and Malmö the city where I live in:-)

In denark the taxes are suprhigh and the car costs 290 000Dollars but if you disable the gasengine permanent you can buy it for normal price (you get taxed for horsepowers in denmark) You can think what a bugatti veyron costs in denmark:-) Luckilly for me we dont have this in sweden.

They dont mention anything about any bugs.
They take it to the track to see if it drives as it looks. They think its compared to the Bmw 7 series, heavy but agile.
In sportmode it doesnt sound so nice they think, nothing you buy to use on the track bet the best attempt to a hybrid yet.

End of translation:-)
they say the karma doesnt sound or drives like an Aston Rapide on the track, but you probably dont buy it to have on the track:-)

I used to program sound simulation in commercial airline flight simulator. Nowadays, there must be a way to program some exciting sound while driving based on speed, sideway motion (G force) etc, in a Blackhawk sound, Formula One car sound etc.

Another one aftermarket product I am thinking of is to sacrifice the battery life for performance. I speculate the A123 battery can put out a lot more but limited in the production car for the life reason. If an aftermarket control program can let this run wild, it should be quite interesting. After all, the Buckeye Bullet using the A123 battery can break the 300 mph land speed record, and they are going for 400mph next year! Something must be possible to up the 0-60 time for some of you.

Michael - thanks for the high level translation - was hoping the review is positive.

Is it even possbile to disable the range extender engine and buy the Karma for less (or were you just joking?)?

RE: Best footage yet of the Karma
Paraently in denmark they can disable the gasengine so they pay the same as we do, otherwise they think it is 400hp and they have to pay more then 100% more in taxes. At the end he says that laws for green car in denmark is not up to date..So no joke

As small as Denmark is, who needs the ICE? And, as flat as it is, you can remove the engine and generator and put a danish bike like the Biomega city bike in the space for emergencies.

I am not sure I understand this concept. So in order to save on taxes in Denmark, you have to carry around 200+ Kilograms of non-working engine around all the time? This is pretty absurd. No wonder Henrik had to go to Germany, UK, and US to design cars.

On the plus side, this would be a perfect case for removing the gas engine and replacing it with a secondary battery of equal mass.

the more horsepower you have in denmark on a car that goes on ordinary gas you more you pay in extra tax. you dont se alot of sportscars in denmark. i think when the cars are more than 27 years old the taxes are much lower so you see a lot of lotus super seven etc..

a porsche boxster cost more in denmark then you pay for the karma in the usa

The 350lbs of extra battery you'd put in lieu of the engine would only get you maybe another 20 miles of range... so optimistically, 70 miles of total range. Talk about anxiety...
