Default Faraday Future's F91

Is it just me, or is this one of the least attractive futuristic cars ever made? Looks like a rejected minivan design from the Jetson's era.

The technical specs are impressive, if they can be believed, but why package them in such an ugly envelope?

I watched their underwhelming and overly-long "reveal" on live stream this week. I don't think they are very close to having an actual car anytime soon.

The styling reminds me of Autocar's review of Top Gear's home-built Extended Range EV, the suis generis Hammerhead Eagle i-Thrust.

My guess is that it would appeal to customers whose eyesight is bad enough to not really appreciate how ugly it is, but just good enough to qualify for a driver's license. It is a very niche audience.

They want $5K down and no ETA, no MSRP is set. They just have more Chinese money than Karma.

What is up with thee ugly EV car designs? Why is Fisker the only one pushing the edge?

Did you see Lucid's dull design?

I also watched (most) the F1 eveal. The claims of technology superiority were over-rated. Nothing really new except their priority SSID connection. They tried auto summon on stage... and the car failed to move. It seemed they were a long way off from production. Dirt was being moved for their Nevada factory, but only an animation of its construction. However, glad to see the push toward EV's for the sake of the environment, but the F1 is a ways off in the future. BMW and others are a lot closer. With an Ice Shelf breaking off Antarctica the size of Rhode Island, the Earth will need all the help manufacturers can muster--that's the origin of the 100 year ocean current cycle --really bad news.

Looks like they have some issues beyond design:

Promise money doesn't pay the bills. I'd be worried about their future. Do they even have a present?

Faraday is counting the people who plunked down $5000 (if any) and everyone who signed up for the no-deposit-necessary "reservation" to get on the mailing list. They did not differentiate between the two in their announcement and I think it's fair to assume that the overwhelming majority of "reservations" do not signal purchase intent.
