Default Fisker Latigo #001: Video and Sound

Many people that visit my garage are fascinated by the story of the Fisker Latigo CS, the history of Fisker Coachbuild, and the ultimate move from this car to the joint venture that became Fisker Automotive and the Fisker Karma. I've rarely taken video of the car, and many people have wanted to know what it sounds like and what it is like to drive. I love the car's power, it's nimble handling, and its uniqueness (like the Karma, it generates conversations wherever I go). So I strapped on my GoPro yesterday and took some video on my regular run through town as I gave this rare beast it's weekly exercise. For those who don't know: the Latigo was a coach-built car on a BMW M6 chassis intended as a limited run of 150 cars, but only one customer car was ever ordered and built. This is that car, Fisker Latigo #001. With a customized 650HP V-10, it is likely the antithesis of the Karma. More info on this car from my blog post in the second link below.

But first, watch the YouTube video of me taking the car for a run, so you can appreciate the lovely sounds of that V-10! My Karma makes a cameo in the video as well...

Wow! That was as close to VR as one can get without wearing a headset.

What would you compare it too, driving wise?

Great video. With a soundtrack like that, I guess you don't have to turn on the radio very often. WIth all the Porsches parked in the garage, the Karma does not put much of a dent in your fleet MPG.

Good question, but hard to say. I guess the obvious answer would be like the M6 on which it is built. Just more responsive throttle and higher winding engine. The underlying suspension is still M6, and although the shocks and wheels are different, its pretty much a BMW type drive.

Great sharing Dave. We are talking "throats" here. My '69 GTO and "62 Morgan have their own tonality. We all love a character sound. I find it interesting that some owners are interested in trying to silence our "relatively" silent Karma. If we ever come up with the right "taped" throat for the Karma, we will override the discomfort of it's current speech, IMHO.
